Senior Systems Developer

Overview of Department:
The Information Technology department works closely with all areas of the business to design, develop, implement and support Cardtronics’ systems and ensures that industry best practices are followed and security and compliance standards are adhered to.

The Software Development team works closely with various teams in the organization, ensuring that the business is fully supported in delivering and maintaining products to our customers through following a PRINCE2 methodology and full end to end project life cycle.

Overview of Position:
Reporting to the Software Development Manager, this is a fantastic opportunity for a proven individual with at least 5 years of experience of application development and support in a business environment. You will be writing and maintaining client/server and web based applications. 

As a Senior Developer for Cardtronics you will be part of a team in a dynamic and rapidly growing business. This position will give you the opportunity to develop and grow within the company and achieve satisfaction from your input towards growing a very profitable business.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Web development of axillary applications that interface with the transaction processing switch
  • Work closely with database administrators and the rest of the development team to ensure that accuracy and performance are maintained
  • Development of reports using SQL reporting services
  • Work closely with end users to evaluate reporting requirements and provide quick access to critical data
  • Support of company’s core systems
  • Provide documentation for each phase of the project life cycle and be able to meet the key milestones.
  • Adherence to IT standards & procedures
  • Organize work prioritization between new development, support & bug fixing
  • Provide after hours and weekend support to business critical systems
  • Be passionate about the work to take on and complete projects  and participate fully in developing solutions for problems faced by the team/ business
  • Other duties as requested

Experience & Skills:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in application development and support in a business environment
  • Solid experience in writing and maintaining client/server and web based applications
  • C# / VB.Net / ASP.Net Webforms (with strong preference for VB.Net)
  • SQL Server 2008R2 /2012 /2016
  • Knowledge of project methodology and full development lifecycle
  • Banking & Transaction Processing Experience
  • Experience in Application Architecture & Solutions
  • Broad architectural experience based on practical experience gained working in a systems development environment, ideally working with large volume databases, web services & web applications, from feasibility to implementation
  • Development and analysis of complex application architectures
  • Reporting Tools (SQL Reporting Services)
  • Familiarity with PRINCE2 methodology
  • Able to work well under pressure and to manage multiple projects simultaneously
